Welcome to the Capital Area Sexual Assault Response Team (SART)

The Capital Area Sexual Assault Response Team is a multidisciplinary collaborative team made up of specially trained professionals from law enforcement, prosecution, community advocacy and forensic nursing, who work to empower survivors and respond to crimes of sexual violence in the Greater Lansing area. We believe survivors and we are here to stand with and connect those affected by sexual violence with available resources in the community.

CASART is a collaborative group of organizations and individuals in the Greater Lansing area who are involved in providing services, support, and advocacy related to sexual assault and survivors. CASART assists in coordinating services, identifying and addressing gaps and barriers faced by survivors of sexual assault, and identifying and promoting best practices and evidence-based, trauma-informed, and survivor-centered care.

Responding to sexual violence through a survivor-centered approach and providing survivors with trauma-informed care while keeping our communities safe from offenders is important to us. Meet the organizations that are engaged in this work everyday in the Greater Lansing area to help survivors heal and keep our communities safe.
